R. Thom Hess

President & Founder of ACM Services, Inc.

Thom Hess entered the environmental field in 1984, beginning as an Industrial Hygienist performing asbestos surveys, site monitoring and project compliance oversight of projects in the Untied States and abroad. In 1990 he founded ACM Services, Inc. as President and Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the general supervision and control of all business activities. Oversees all operational duties and is involved in many phases of each project. His environmental career has encompassed over 30 years of asbestos abatement, demolition, construction and project engineering for private, local, state and federal agencies.

Thom has held 5 Environmental licenses and certifications including Management Planner & PLM Microscopy.

Dale R. McGuire

Vice President of Operations

Joined ACM Services in 1993.

Beginning in the USAF, Dale has been in the environmental/construction industry since 1977. As Vice President of Operations for ACM Services, he is responsible for overseeing all operational tasks and is involved in every facet of projects, from bidding to close out. His career has encompassed 30 years of environmental/construction supervision for private, local, state and federal agencies. He is experienced in multiple task order and large scale projects. Mr. McGuire holds a degree from the University of Maryland, and is currently studying towards his Masters. Discharged with honors USAF in 1982.

Scott Sherwood

Controller, CPA

As an Officer of the company, with a degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Theil College and titled as a Certified Public Accountant, Scott accurately monitors all of ACM Services’ accounts, invoicing, and human resources responsibilities. With over 20 years of accounting experience, 18 of which in a supervisory position, Mr. Sherwood has managed accounting, payroll, and employee benefits in over 5 separate industries helping to gain a diverse knowledge of economic efficiency.

Gary joined ACM Services in 1997, with backgrounds in sales and marketing for environmental remediation and mechanical insulation. With 25 years of experience in environmental work, managing large scale, multi-disciplined projects; he has gained in depth knowledge of NESHAPs, OSHA, AHERA, RCRA and CRCLA regulations.

Kyle Neubauer

Environmental Division Manager

After graduating from Western Maryland College, Kyle began his environmental career with ACM Services n 2001. As an Assistant Project Manager, he was involved in the oversight of all projects and field operations. In 2003, Mr. Neubauer advanced to Project Manager estimating and managing projects. Project experience includes lead-paint removal, asbestos abatement, mold remediation, demolition, turn key renovations, and hazardous waste reclamation projects. He has managed large scale, multi-disciplined projects with versatility to accommodate all project aspects.

Ed Metcalfe

Operations Manager

After graduating from Widener University in 1988 with a degree in Business Management, Mr. Metcalfe worked in and around the DC Metro area managing businesses ranging from large hotels to sports and health clubs. The personnel management experience he gained which crossed multiple departments gave Mr. Metcalfe the ability to direct a wide range of employees working towards different missions. That experience has made Mr. Metcalfe an essential team member with ACM Services, Inc. functioning as the center of all field, equipment, and personnel operations, at times directing over 100 of ACM’s work force.

Evelyn Juarez

Office Manager

Evelyn earned her degree in Business Administration from the University of Mariano Galvez in Guatemala in 2004.

Evelyn began working for ACM Services, Inc. (ACM) in 2009 as an Administrative Assistant, where she utilized her degree and previous experience to support and perform a variety of administrative tasks. Through years of experience and dedicated performance, Evelyn was promoted to Office Manager. As Office Manager, Evelyn is responsible for all office procedures and uses her organizational skills to ensure smooth operations in a busy work environment. In addition to the traditional tasks of an Office Manager, Evelyn renews ACM’s company business and environmental licenses, tracks and maintains personnel training certifications and trade licenses, and generates final reports for completed abatement and demolition projects.

Since Evelyn joined ACM, she has been instrumental in communicating day-to-day operations between office and field staff. Evelyn is a Certified Spanish-English Interpreter and active member of the American Translators Association.

John McGraw

Project Manager

Mr. McGraw graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from Frostburg State University and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Policy and Management from American Military University, Mr. McGraw has extensive knowledge and experience in managing day to day field activities on environmental/construction projects. Project experience includes lead-paint removal, asbestos abatement, mold remediation, demolition, turn-key renovations, and hazardous waste reclamation projects.

Mr. McGraw began his environmental career in 2008 as an Industrial Hygienist at Boggs Environmental Consultants, Inc. were he performed hazardous materials inspections, remediation oversight, Phase I, II & III environmental site assessments and building surveys for hazardous construction materials including lead-based paint, asbestos, mercury, polychlorinated biphenyls, mold and biological contaminants. In 2010, Mr. McGraw was hired at URS Corporation (Now AECOM) as an Environmental Scientist were he conducted OSHA health and safety oversight; subsurface soil testing and analysis, groundwater sampling and analysis, and river sediment sampling. Additionally, Mr. McGraw was responsible for the hazardous characterization and disposal of soil tailings from geotechnical investigations. In 2011, Mr. McGraw was hired at ACM Services, Inc. as an Assistant Project Manager.

In 2013, John was promoted to Project Manager for ACM Services were he specializes in both commercial and residential properties. Additional responsibilities include supervision of respiratory protection programs and perchloric fume hood testing and decommissioning. With 8 years of experience in environmental work, managing large scale, multi-disciplined projects; he has gained in depth knowledge of NESHAPs, OSHA, AHERA, RCRA and CRCLA regulations.

Robert L. Hartsell

Demolition Division Project Manager/Estimator

Mr. Hartsell graduated from Mars Hill College with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration. He began his career as a Project Engineer performing cost analysis for asbestos projects. Bob put his knowledge and skills to work for several environmental remediation firms providing Superintendent and Project Management duties, eventually working his way up to Asbestos Division Manager and Branch Manager. Many of the environmental remediation projects he managed also included demolition. Through the course of time, demolition became more prevalent and the industry leaned more towards turnkey projects that included both demolition and environmental remediation.

Currently with ACM Services, Inc., Bob is a Demolition Project Manager/Estimator. Once awarded a Project, Bob ensures that the Project is planned properly for manpower and equipment and manages the project on a daily basis. Bob also has more than 30 years of experience in the Environmental field working with Asbestos, Lead, Mold and Anthrax.

Michael Heywood

Estimator / Project Manager

Mr. Heywood graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He began his career as a lead and asbestos inspector for an environmental remediation firm in Richmond, Virginia. After several years in the field Mike was promoted to estimator / project manager and temporarily relocated to the Washington DC area to manage a 4 - year renovation project at the new Environmental Protection Agency headquarters. Upon completion of this project Mike relocated permanently to the DC area and was offered a new position as the Senior Project Manager and Demolition Estimator for a nationwide demolition and environmental remediation firm.

Currently with ACM Services, Inc., Mike is a Demolition Estimator and Project Manager and is responsible for turnkey estimating and project management of demolition projects in the DC Metro area. His weekly duties include attendance at pre-bid meetings, quantity take-offs, estimate preparation, submission of bid proposals and pricing negotiations.

Brian W. Kline

Demolition Division Manager

Mr. Kline graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Environmental Science & Engineering. He began his career as an Industrial Hygienist performing environmental surveys and air sampling until he became a Director of Environmental Training. Then Mr. Kline put his knowledge and skills to work for an environmental remediation firm providing Project Management duties for some of the largest Projects in the DC Metro Region. He worked his way up to Sr. Project Manager and Branch Manager. Many of the environmental remediation projects he managed also included Demolition. Through the course of time, Demolition became more prevalent and the industry leaned more towards turnkey projects that included both Demolition and Environmental Remediation.

Currently with ACM Services, Inc., Brian is the Demolition Division Manager. He manages the Demolition Team including Estimators, Project Managers, and Superintendents. Brian reviews Demolition bid opportunities, estimates, and proposals. Once awarded a Project, he ensures that the Project is planned properly with respect to submittals, supervision, manpower, equipment, and subcontractors.

Gary Scholze

Safety Manager

Mr. Scholze, graduated from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Environmental Studies. He began his environmental career in 1987 as an Industrial Hygienist performing a variety of workplace environmental surveys such as, asbestos assessments and air sampling, IAQ studies, noise dosimetry, water testing and chemical exposure sampling. In 1989, he moved into the demolition and abatement industry for 24 years in which he held positions as Construction Manager, Operations Manager, General Superintendent, and lastly, Branch Health and Safety Officer.

Currently, with ACM Services Inc., Gary reports directly to the President, Vice President, and Operations manager. Duties include enforcement of Company’s Safety Program, OSHA Compliance, Safety Inspections involving job site visits, training, AHA/JHA preparation, development of Job Specific Health and Safety Plans “HASPs”, and other duties that would help enhance ACM’s continued effort to provide a safe working environment for all of its employees, customers, the surrounding public.

Gary holds training certifications in Asbestos, Lead, Hazwoper, OSHA 30, and PCM Microscopy.

Garrett Kehler

Project Manager

Garrett began his environmental services career in May 2009 as an Industrial Hygienist after graduating from Mount Olive University with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences. As a hygienist, Garrett performed hazardous materials surveys and abatement project oversight to include: asbestos, lead based paint, biological contaminants, mold; polychlorinated biphenyls, mercury and ambient indoor air quality assessments throughout the east coast.

Starting in 2013, Garrett occupied the role as an assistant project manager in the capacity of oversight in staff operations and scheduling, assurance that all work was executed in accordance with standard operating procedure, development of sophisticated hazardous materials remedial action work plans and client liaison to generate technical cost proposals.

In 2015 Garrett joined ACM Services as an assistant project manager where he works closely with senior managers and superintendents supporting multiple projects day-to-day activities.

Garrett currently holds and maintains seven (7) environmental licenses. and certifications to include: Lead Based Paint Risk Assessor/Inspector, NIOSH #582 Equivalency, US EPA AHERA Asbestos Inspector, Confined Space Entry and State of Maryland Certified Water Sampler.

Kellie O’Neal

Project Accountant

Kellie began her construction accounting career in June 2013 as an Executive Assistant in Washington, DC. as assistant to the CEO of a rough carpentry subcontractor. Kellie was responsible for a long list of accounting, licensing and insurance tasks. She was also responsible for the development of project submittals, material take-offs and documentation of project progression.

In 2014, Kellie began working as an Accounting Coordinator for a local demolition and asbestos contractor, where she helped to develop contract filing systems, managed project start up and close out processes, managed "pay when paid" subcontractor accounts, monthly WIP reports and compliance reporting.

In 2016, Kellie was promoted to Project Coordinator responsible for helping to develop a new project management team. Her focus in this role was mitigating financial risk through the management of contracts and change orders.

In 2018, Kellie joined ACM Services as a Project Accountant where she assists division mangers with all project related accounting as well as developing new SOP’s, budgets and processes.

Eric Nottingham

Eric began his career in 2005 as a wine & spirits sales representative. Eric was responsible for managing a large portfolio with the focus on increasing revenue while improving customer relationships. He has been awarded numerous awards and recognition, and in 2009, he was promoted to sales manager.

Throughout his career, he has been an exceptional communicator and has been able to cultivate lasting relationships with all new and existing clients. He has been able to maintain a solid reputation in client development, product promotion, and creative sales strategies.

Eric is always striving to go above and beyond for his clients. Improving customer service and satisfaction is of utmost importance. He has been able to improve client satisfaction through expert resolution of project challenges and customer concerns.

In October 2018, Eric joined ACM Services as an assistant project manager for the residential division. His sales and customer service background continue to propel his ability to provide a high level of customer satisfaction.

Laxman joined ACM in 2019 and currently serves as the Chief Accounting Officer. He brings to the company years of progressive finance and accounting knowledge, with specialization in the construction industry. Lax has extensive experience with corporate accounting, job costing, financial planning, analysis, and financial reporting. His experience includes 10 years as a Business Manager with Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. and its subsidiary, and 3 years as Accounting Manager with M.C. Dean, Inc. As the Chief Accounting Officer, Laxman handles all accounting and financial matters for ACM Services including oversight of the accounting team and regulatory compliance. Laxman has a Bachelor’s degree in finance (Mumbai, India) and is a CPA.
