Lead Abatement

Lead abatement is a critical process aimed at eliminating lead-based paint hazards in residential and commercial properties. Exposure to lead poses significant health risks, including neurological damage and developmental delays in children. Our comprehensive lead abatement services ensure the safe removal of lead contaminants, safeguarding the well-being of occupants and complying with federal and state regulations. Our team of certified professionals utilizes state-of-the-art techniques and equipment to identify and remediate lead hazards effectively. We conduct thorough inspections to assess the presence of lead-based materials and develop customized abatement plans tailored to your property’s specific needs.

Lead Abatement Explained

A consultation is crucial to evaluate suspect asbestos-containing materials, the impact, and practical solutions. Often a third party is required to perform survey and material sampling to confirm the presence of asbestos-containing materials.

A negative pressure containment is a sealed area where air is pulled inwards using HEPA air filtration devices so dust or harmful fibers, like asbestos, don’t become airborne. Each containment will be equipped with a decontamination facility for personnel and items being removed from the containment.

Safely removing asbestos containing materials using engineering controls and compliant work practices. Common ACM materials include floor tiles, mastic,  drywall, or insulation, to prevent harmful asbestos fibers from becoming airborne. Prior to removal from the containment, asbestos waste is sealed in leak-tight containers, labeled and manifested for disposal.

A wipe test is a critical step in the lead abatement process, used to confirm that surfaces are free from hazardous lead dust after abatement activities. This process involves using a pre-moistened, lead-free wipe to collect dust from specific areas, such as floors or windowsills, which is then analyzed in a certified laboratory to measure lead concentrations.

Upon achieving final air clearance, the containment is carefully dismantled and all waste is properly disposed of in accordance with regulations.  It is then transported to a licensed facility for proper disposal according to regulations. Upon completion of the project, you will receive a final abatement report including waste manifest and final air clearance results.
